The Volkskrant, one of the two Dutch major national newspapers, had a short snippet about the Amazon deal this morning. Alright, numbers are always difficult for a journalist (35k instead of 30k, 7 artists having albums out?) and as far as I know the deal was only with Amazon.co.uk and not the .com parent company (not really sure what the organization structure of Amazon is). But small articles like these appearing more regularly are the key to making Sellaband the household name it should be. At least they spelled the name right! After the deal went through and before the Tribune was released I looked into Amazon's structure. Currently each country or region is seperate based on currency forms. Due to this an affiliate of one who wants to sell products of another has to become an affiliate of the other one too. Many of the other functions work seperately while a few can be combined into a single use. I also found a short discussion wherein Amazon was thinking of combining the associate programs together though you would still have to sign up for each one seperately. This also then means that not all products are available in each one.
